The larger the fish, the quicker the display


In my experience, of all possible types and manners of human interaction, the one request that will always be immediately granted is a request to be shown the largest fish a fisherman has caught. The larger the fish, the quicker the display and above a certain size and weight the process of exhibition will always be accompanied with a smile of a width proportional to the catch. It is actually so predictable I’ve learned to avoid asking; sometimes the dangling of the fish (as in the case of this photo) happened to be effusive enough to make me worry that the fish would be dropped.
